Visit Us

We welcome individual visitors and tour groups to our Development Centre in Khayelitsha where our unique products are sold and the majority of our programmes are based. You can also visit our weaving and printing workshops.

Directions from Cape Town:

Take the N2 (Settlers Way) towards Somerset West to the Mew Way Exit. Take the Mew Way Exit (Exit 25) and turn right so that you pass over the bridge over the highway. Turn right at the traffic lights. Take the first right again at the Astron Energy filling station into Solomon Tshuku Avenue. Turn right immediately – Philani is situated directly opposite the Astron Energy filling station.

What you can see:

Philani’s Development Centre was opened in 1995. Designed as a compound built around a lawned courtyard, it presents an oasis of green in the middle of dense township housing. Feel free to look around, talk to our staff and enjoy some ethical retail therapy. If you would like to visit our school, the children are on break around 11:00am, which is the best time to visit without disturbing their classes.
